the envelope follower is ok & work like expected. but it is the envelope generator which when selected "sidechain" also take "normal input" - i think.
i tested it in ableton live. a pad-instrument in track 1 & volcano in track 1. a kick-loop in track 2 & the output is routed to track2-volcano-sidechain.
a envelope generator is choosen to manipulate the cutoff of the filter. now it is indifferent if "sidechain" or "normal input" is selected for the envelope generator. i also can delete or mute the kick-loop when
"sidechain" is selected. every selection produces the same manipulation of the cutoff. it is the manipulation like if there is a smooth sound at the envelope generator input & not the manipulation when a kick-loop would be used as envelope generator input.
or as a better example if i choose "sidechain" as envelope generator input and also delete the kick-loop, there should be no manipulation of the cutoff, because there is no input signal for the envelope generator, but there is still the smooth cutoff-manipulation.
on the other side the envelope follower produce the expected pumping-like effect on the cutoff when side chain is selected as input. it is in sync with the kick-loop.
