Among other things, I routinely use Volcano 3 to beef up weak kicks/snares; sometimes in parallel with white noise in front (thanks Dan Worrall). You can truly transform a sound, like a crappy kick drum. Having the built-in noise would make that a piece of cake without having to run it in parallel and sidechaining it to the original.
