Some plugins start with 'FabFilter Pro' and others start with 'Pro'
The VST2 plug-ins are named "FabFilter Pro-Q 3" etc, while the VST3 versions skip the FabFilter prefix and are named "Pro-Q 3" etc. In Cubase, these are also marked with the VST3 icon that looks like ///. It's best to use the VST3 versions in Cubase.
You can also go to the VST2 folder on your computer (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST) and delete the FabFilter plug-ins here if you're not using any hosts that require VST2 plug-ins.
Cheers,
I have this issue also but need 100% confirmation.
Just downloaded Fabfilter total trial 64bit and installed by clicking only on the 64Bit VST3 tick box into c:\Fabfilter
When launching Davinci Resolve Studio 18.6.6 the plugins available to activate shows as an example (Not all listed)
Fabfilter Pro-C 2 (Mono)[2.4]
Fabfilter Pro-C 2 [2.4]
Pro-C2
Can Frederik please 100% confirm that when selecting Pro-C2 this means you are 100% selecting VST3
I am trying to fault find Davinci Resolve Studio crashing issues and need comfort I am choosing the latest VST
The first two, with the (2.4) behing their name, are VST2 versions. The last one without the FabFilter prefix is the VST3 version.
You can also manually delete the VST2 versions from your plug-in folder to avoid confusion.
Thanks however please note that the bundle installer and other single plugin installers install all VST versions even though you only specify VST3 in the tick box during the install process.
This is why I mentioned it.
That should not be the case. Are you on Mac or PC?
Anyone know why my Fabfilter plugins show (2) versions of the same plugin.
Some plugins start with 'FabFilter Pro' and others start with 'Pro'.
I did notice there are missing features depending on which one I use. Example: the 'Fabfilter Pro' versions are missind SideChain option.
I started using a Mac Studio / M1 Max / macOS 13.5.2 / Cubase Pro 12
Maybe it's a compatibility issue?
I pulled up Pro Q3 and both versions are at V3.2.2.0
