Is oversampling recommended with the Pro-L2 when the project sample rate is already 96kHz?

Hi,

I use a Pro-L2 at the very end of my signal chain for a modest +6dB of limiting.

Is oversampling recommended with the Pro-L2 when the project sample rate is already 96kHz?

I know the subjective answer is "use your ears" but I am asking from the mathematical standpoint.

The music is very rhythmic, so I want to avoid any pre-ring making it sound mushy.

I am not sure if I am creating aliasing or not, and I wish there was an easy way to tell.

Thanks,
Fred

There is some very relevant info in Dan Worral’s often-cited video here which relates to your question: youtu.be/-jCwIsT0X8M

TLDW there are unique benefits to oversampling within the plug-in. While further increasing the sample rate in your DAW may lead to a diminishing returns situation. But I’m sure Fabfilter will respond with more useful info.
