Reaper Midi and Pro-G

I setup my drum gates using Pro-G as I can trigger them using Midi in Reaper. I have one master midi track in my session and i create midi sends from that to the drum tracks with Pro-G instantiated with the EXT sidechain set in expert mode. Everything is working and i can tweak my settings as needed.
I'll go off and do some things in the mix and then realise that the gate as just stopped working. it is no longer triggering and all my bleed is coming through. I have to click the enable midi (to disable the midi input) and then enable midi again to get the gate to start working again.
I would really like to not have to worry about this just breaking in the middle of my mix

What OS version and Reaper version are you using? Are you using the latest version of Pro-G?

Is it possible you have inadvertently automated the Enable MIDI parameter in your session?
