FabFilter plugins do not respond and cubase 12 crashes after trying to close the plugin.

I have again the problem with hardware acceleration with FabFilter plugins.
After installing Cubase 12 the problem occurred again.
Previously I had no problems with Cubase 11.
I tried different NVidia driver versions, no success.
The error now occurs in Cubase 11 and 12 on both installations.
After disabling the hardware acceleration in RegEdit, the plugins work again.

Windows 11 Pro 21H2
Nvidia Treiber Version 511.79
Cubase 12

Would it help if I send a crashdump of Cubase 12 to you?

Hi Steffen,

It sounds like a graphics driver problem to me, but please send us the crash dump.

To save a crash log on Windows, right-click the taskbar when the crash has occurred, and click Task Manager. In the list of tasks, locate your host. Right-click it and click Create dump file. Save the file to disk, and send it to us with a service such as WeTransfer (it will be large).

Cheers,

Hi, here is the crash.dmp file.

I hope it can help.

Hi Steffen,

I can't access the file. Can you send it to us via WeTransfer?

Cheers,

Sent via WeTransfer (info@fabfilter.com)

Hi Steffen,

Thanks for the crash dump. I can see that Pro-Q 3 hangs in a call to the graphics driver, and this happens during a call to a Nahimic service. Some googling on this turned up this thread:
www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/297952/nahimic-and-nvidia-drivers-conflict

Is it possible for you to turn off or uninstall Nahimic?

Cheers,

Frederik (FabFilter)

Hi there, thanks for your help.

I disabled this f.... (sorry) "Nahimic service" and now its all working correctly.

This is ASUS Bloathware and comes with the onboard Realtek Drivers.

I can't even uninstall it.

Good to know -- thanks for the update!
