Pro Q3 resize options

Hello,

I have issues with automatic resize on Q3 instances.

I've read on the forum that when you change the size of one plug, all new created instances will be this size.

But it also changes the one already created !

When I open my session, if the first plug in I open is in "Small", then all the other ones that I will open will be Small, even if they were "Large" yesterday.

Is there a way to avoid this ?

Many thanks,
Best

Diane

Hi Diane,

When you change the window size of a plug-in, it will save that size for all plug-in windows you will open after that. So also for instances on other tracks that used to have a different window size.

Cheers,

This is not true. Does not work for me. Every single time i open an instance od PQ3, it is set to small and I must reset it to use it. EVERY SINGLE TIME. No matter how much saving that I do.

Hi James,

Could it be you are using default settings that are saved by your host? We've seen that e.g. plug-in presets, track preset or template settings can overrule the plug-in size settings that are stored in the preference file.

I do have the same problem. Using Presonus Studio One 6.6 on Windows 10. On each opening of a DAW project, all Pro Q3 instances reduce their height a little bit until at some point the details view of the selected band is no longer visible and I have to manually resize the plugin window. This is extremely annoying because it heavily disturbes the workflow in production.

... I can further specify the issue: With each opening of the plugin UI - even within a running DAW session - the height shrinks by 16 pixels.

HI Lutz,

What graphics card and firmware are you running? What scaling settings? What plug-in format (VST3/AU)?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ralph,
I have to apologize - it seem to be an issue related to Presonus Studio One 6.4.
I tried the same open-close cycle in Studio One 7.1. - no problems.
Seems that Studio one 6.4. does not save the UI height correctly in the project status.

P.S.: I am using vst3, custom size.
Interestingly, other FabFilter plugins with resizable UI (e.g. Pro-L2) do not show this behaviour in Studio One 6.
And no issues in Reaper 7.
