plug-in Idea (vocal pitch shifting)
Thank you for your elaborate inquiry. Interesting info there! We didn't really get into the world of pitch shifting yet, but we'd love to do a dedicated pitch shifter plug-in in the future. However, we have so many plans ahead of us that its hard to say when we'll be developing this exactly. In any case, thank you for your feedback! We'll definitely check these out. :-)

Howdy, so as a fan of experimenting with unique vocals in my productions, I use a myriad of different interesting effects on my vocals.
My most beloved plug-in, however, is vocal shifters. I can't get enough of them! I love altering my voice, either for an obvious effect, or for something more subtle.
That being said, I find something lacking in each plugin I own.
Little alter-boy is good, but at large intervals, it loses it's timbre and turns rather treble-ly. This is the same case with elastique pitch and auto-tune's pitch shifting software.
Izotope's vocalsynth 2 is probably my favorite by a fair margin. the different modules invoke different algorithm and feel (vocoder, compuvox, etc). My favorite is the bioviox module. It is intended to mimic the human vocal tract, whatever that means. It is actually quite transparent, and BY FAR the best for large intervals between the lot.
where it falls flat, however, is the quality. The plugin uses waveforms to generate it's sound (and for all i know, the others do too). With the other plugins, the sound only deceases in volume, but very minimal loss in quality of the recording is had. In vocalsynth; if you add multiple unaltered iterations of the same preset, it quickly loses coherency.
I truly believe that FabFilter, a company with a history of excellence to the upmost extent, would create the best and most capable pitch shifting plugin in the market. I would love to see the apple of my eye, FabFilter, take a crack at their very own plugin.
Thank you for reading, truly yours, Diggus
