I'm fairly new to Pro-Q 3 and am currently struggling using the mid-side function. I have the EQ applied to a stereo track and i can hear the mono when i use the solo button, but when i use the solo button on a side, i cant hear anything.

Maybe your stereo signal just doesn't contain any side-information but is purely mono. Try adding a ping pong delay to it and listen to the sides again. That way you can figure out if it's a problem with ProQ or the signal itself :-)

Just tried this and the ping-pong delay added the side. So even if the signal is showing as a stereo file it still may have no side information?

That is correct! The mid portion is the audio that is the same for both the left and right channels. The side portion is the difference between left and right. So when both L and R are the same... no signal on the side channel :)
