Hi,

Today I purchased Pro-Q 2, perhaps on the incorrect assumption that it provides M/S Processing (MSP). By MSP I mean processing a track having a cardioid microphone and a track having a figure-eight microphone into a stereo image.

I learned of Pro-Q 2 from this post on the Auria forum:

Does Pro-Q 2 offer an MSP feature? Or can it be configure to perform this encoding and if so, how is it done?

Hi Patrick,

Pro-Q2 can be turned to M/S mode, in which you can create a band that affects mid only/side only.

As far as I know (and please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone), in the end of process, the signal is encoded back to L/R, so you can't use it in an M/S chain.

I hope I got your question right.

Use it in stereo mode when in a m/s chain, left= mid, right=side (btw always have your mid on channel 1 and side on channel 2, otherwise a m/s decoder will flip stereo)
