Surely these two controls should both show negative values baring in mind they're doing the same thing?

In Pro-MB, the Range knob can be both negative and positive since Pro-MB can both compression and expansion. See here for more information:

In Pro-C 2, the Range slider simply sets the amount of gain reduction that can take place. Yes, it would be consistent with Pro-MB to show that value as negative, but we think that in the context of Pro-C 2, it makes more sense to show it as positive.
