Old Cubase projects with Pro-C, problems.

Heeeello FabFilter!
I've recently had to open old Cubase project files. The original projects were done in Cubase 6.5 in Windows with an older version of Pro-C. I've now had to open them in OSX using Cubase 8.0.5 in 64 bits.

In the old project I used a lot of FabFilter plugins but Pro-C won't load. When I open the project it says:
The plug-in "FabFilter Pro-C" could not be found for...

The plugin is there, I can reload it on the same track but the settings are lost, including the sidechain ones.

What could be happening here?
Thanks!

Hi Irregular,

This is a known issue and is due to a mistake we made when creating the VST3 version of Pro-C: the Mac and Windows versions have different identifiers so they aren't compatible with each other. We can't really do anything about it unfortunately because that would invalidate earlier sessions using Pro-C on one of the platforms.

The VST 2 version doesn't have this problem. If you still have access to a PC running Cubase, you can recall the session, save the Pro-C settings as a temporary preset and then replace it with a VST 2 instance that will load correctly on Mac.

Our apologies for the inconvenience!
