Hardware acceleration of graphic choking

Since there is HW acceleration of graphics implemented in Fabfilter plugs I get "near freeze" states once I open more of the fabfilter EQs. It was around 6 of them with ProQ1 and it's around 2-3 with ProQ2. It just starts to stutter and then freezes completely including the cursor.

Is there a way to turn the hw graphics acceleration off?

Does anyone experience the same thing?

(My setup is Q6600, 6gb of ram, NVidia 8600gt. Old setup, but still very capable.)

Hi Matous,

The issue you describe happens in some rare cases, mostly due to bugs in graphics drivers; do you have the latest graphics driver for your hardware? If not, please try to install the latest drivers.

If the problem still exists, you can try to disable graphics acceleration so you can at least work with the plug-ins!

Yes I've installed the latest drivers (for my ancient gfx card).

Will try to disable the acceleration. Thanks.

It works. The visualization is more choppy, but it never makes my computer to freeze. At least not with 3 instances of fabfilter plugin UIs open.

thanks
