i want to create an effect that cuts the incoming sound completely and instantly but that allows the wet signal to continue

what are the different sonic results of
a) turning the input to -36
b) using the freeze button
c) disabling the dry signal

thanks

a) input doesn't disappear completely
b) input is cut off, signal in delay buffer starts looping
c) input to the delays is not cut off
