Twin2: Mod Wheel control for another modulation slot
Have you created a modulation connection from a MIDI source with type set to mod wheel, to the Master Tune knob?
Cheers,
I can certainly set up the MW to control the master tune directly without any problem.
I can sometimes set up the MW to control the level of Mater Tune controlled by an LFO. Just to be clear, an LFO is setup to modulate the Master tune and the MW is mapped to the slot for the master tune. However, this does not seem to work dependably for me.
**Okay, I've figured something out. If I open the preset I mentioned in my first post ("Fat and Bright"), turn off the modulation slots for Osc1 Detune, Osc2 Detune, and Osc3 Detune (that are controlled by XLFO2) and then turn them back on, the MW control works. If I go to another preset and then come back to "Fat and Bright", it no longer works and I have to turn the Detune slots off and then on again to get it to work.
This happens in Sonar 8.5 and Tobybear's Minihost. Turning the slots on and off fixes (temporarily) the problem.
It seems like this might be some sort of bug....or I'm doing something weird. Can anyone confirm this behavior on another machine?
We fixed some bugs in Twin 2 that could cause the behavior that you are describing. Are you using the latest 2.03 version?
If so, please tell me exactly which preset(s) to select after Fat and Bright in order to reproduce the problem.
Cheers,
Well, I'm an idiot. I thought I had the most current build of Twin2 but I had 2.02 installed.
I've now installed 2.03 and everything is working perfectly. Thanks for your patient, quick, and courteous responses. I've got Twin2, One, Timeless 2, and Volcano 2, and I love them all!
I noticed in Twin2 factory bank that the Mod Wheel is often set up to modulate another of the modulation slots (i.e. "Slot 4"). For example, the patch "Fat and Bright" under the "Pad"/"Dance" category is one such patch. The Mod wheel controls the amount of detuning the LFO does on each of the oscillators. However, I can't get the mod wheel to make ANY change in the detuning. I push the modwheel all the way to the top (and the GUI on Twin 2 indicates that a MW signal is being received), but I cannot hear any change in the pitch. I tried it in Sonar 8.5 and in Tobybear's Minihost.
I can get an envelope generator to modulate these slots but not the mod wheel. What's going on? Am I missing somthing?
