I'd love to be able to use Pro-C to compress just a portion of the audio like the waves c-1 sidechain compressor. It has an option to allow you to just compress the bass frequencies for example.

You'd need a multiband compressor to do things like this. We've been considering making this, but can't promise anything yet. :-)

Right, a multiband compressor could do that. But I was still just talking about still using one band, just not having that band be the entire frequency range.

Pro-C allready had advanced options like mid/side mode, external side chain compression and a filter to compress certain frequencies.

You can also insert an EQ before Pro-C, like Dan Warrol shows in one of the tutorials.

Really, that's exactly what I'm looking for, but I think you'll find it always compresses all the frequencies.
