FabFilter DAW
... I can also immagine it, and it would be awesome! ;-) But there's so much to do, and so little time... but who knows... maybe one day...
Cheers,
A DAW from FabFilter... Definetely one of my best dreams... :-)
What would you expect from a FabFilter DAW? How would it be different from, say, Logic Pro or Cubase?
Cheers,
I was wondering the same :D
Who wants to spend time learning a new host ?
I'll stick with mine (Logic 9), I know how it works and it does 'almost' all I want it to.
TBH I don't really need a FF DAW. They could add some channel strips with their specific sound (kind of like the Prop's Record mixer) but I personally prefer a transparent mixer and add my own colour with the effects I choose.
I don't see how they could make it so different to be honest.
I'd prefer FF to keep doing plug-ins (and they're really great at it) ... Distortion, modulation effects, pitch shifting, (plus the features requests for twin and volcano ;) ), so much they can do
This is all just imho of course.
Well, it could be debatable about the features, but when it comes to user interface I really think FabFilter is unbeatable. So I can easily imagine a great looking and very user-friendly DAW made by FF.
A DAW? Nah...an analog drum machine!!! A distortion plug would be nice too...or a flanger/phaser of sorts would be cool.
A Fabfilter DAW seems like an odd choice. It would definitely be visually stimulating given their GUI model, but I can't think of anything new to add to DAWs unless they used their visual elements as a creative way to compose music. But were they to come up with any ideas for that, a plug-in to drive other gear within a sequencer could do the trick just as easily.
It is kind of like a Reverb or whatever...One company doesn't need to make one of every type of thing out there.
I like it that Fabfilter likes our ideas....but I like Fabfilter's ideas better than ours. We love the company because they have good ideas...which is why we use their goodies.
The best thing about an FF daw, would be the drag & drop modulation - Although after using ni's massive, I prefer the click once, then click again modulation assigning - saving those hand/arm muscles on marathon sessions x)
Also, I find FF plugs really easy to learn - I can't say that about any of the other DAWs I've owned/demoed.
:D
Yeah I know it's a hell of a lot more work than a plug-in but I can just imagine how amazing a FabFilter DAW might be.. ;)
