Using Upward Compression on vocals with large level differences
Hi! You can try setting a low cut in the side-chain section, so the compressor does not trigger so much on the low end.

Hello FabFilter Support,
I have a question about using Pro-C 3's Upward Compression on vocals.
I often work with vocals that have large level differences between notes and phrases. I would like to use Upward Compression to bring up the quieter parts while keeping the louder parts natural.
However, when I increase the Upward Compression, lower-pitched notes sometimes become more compressed and lose their openness, even though the higher notes sound good.
What would you recommend for achieving more consistent and natural vocal levels in this situation? In particular, are there any recommended approaches for the Attack, Release, or sidechain EQ settings?
Thank you!
