Lifetime Updates?
You'll get updates until Q5 (assuming there is one), but then you'll have to buy Q5 if you want to continue updates.
I still have Q3 because the update price to Q4 is too much and I can't really justify it given other EQs I have that cover Q4, but I do seem to remember a few updates happened to Q3 even after Q4 was released, but I'm sure that's stopped now.
We have two types of updates, minor updated and major updates. Minor updates include bug fixes, operating system compatibility updates, etc. Simply put, everything you need to keep the plug-in running on your computer. These are the numbers after the main plug-in number, for example 4.10 to 4.12
Major updates are completely new versions of a plug-in, with a new or updated interface and added features. These are the main plug-in numbers, for example Pro-Q 3 to Pro-Q 4.
When you purchase Pro-Q 4 all minor updates will be free. We feel you don't need to pay just to keep the plug-in running on your computer. However, when we release a new major version, like Pro-Q 4, this upgrade will not be free. As an owner of the previous version you will get a large discount of at least 50% to purchase a special upgrade license. If you purchase within the grace period before we release a plug-in, you will get a free upgrade.
Of course you can keep using the old versions when we release a new version. Even though we released Pro-Q 4 over a year ago, we keep Pro-Q 3 and even Pro-Q 2 included in our general updates.
Hope that clears it up.
Hello, if I buy a plugin, let's say the Pro-Q4, do I get lifetime updates? And if a Pro-Q5 happens to exist at some point, do I need to pay for it or is it included?
