When Pro-M?

I'm not the first, and probably not even in the first hundred of asking for it, but... when Pro-M? We have Pro-L-imiters, Pro-C-ompressor, Pro-eQ-ualisation, but sometimes you need just Pro-M-etering.

And the question arises now hotter than before – as the recent generation of plugins (Q 4, C 3, etc) are getting the instance list management, I can often find myself dropping Q-4 like crazy on each track, just to see them in sync.

... and finding myself that sometimes I want to see – and compare – the Q-4 style visuals, sometimes I want the L style of visuals. Sometimes I even want a waterfall-style visualisation (a man could hope! and hope to stay within the ecosystem for it, rather than looking at the direction of Insight 2).

But most importantly, I am dreaming of a plugin that I can drop on any track, that wouldn't necessary run extra CPU cycles for processing, because it doesn't do ANY processing. A plugin that I can drop and be sure it won't alter a bit in the sound, because it's pure-metering.

With the instance list - a plugin that I could use to visually compare multiple tracks at once - and switch the view for all of them at once, in sync.

Probably, that could even have some clever modes to bring A/B testing that works so nice within single plugins of yours, but now to quickly A/B a track vs a reference/references (in fact, DAWs don't often do good job for that – and the instance list and some purely visual plugin suddenly looks like a good place for that).

Yes, I know making a whole new plugin could seem like a major venture. But honestly, the recent advancements in software development could take a lot of the heaviness out of what used to feel like a big undertaking just a couple of years ago; especially with a well-organized codebase (and from your releases, and the tempo of adding new features and syncing them between plugins – like CLAP for example – I can easily derive that you DO have a well-organized codebase!)

Anyway, it's just some thinking-aloud of a loyal user. Even if just bumps the vote-count on this feature – that's fine for me! Cheers!
